GARDENING GUIDE
Repotting
Repot when the plant, roots, growing media or container conditions indicate a real need rather than automatically changing pots on a calendar.
Signs a repot may help
Roots circling densely, poor drainage, badly degraded media, instability, or a container that no longer suits the plant can justify repotting.
Do not oversize dramatically
A very large pot can hold excess moisture around a small root system. Increase container size appropriately.
Protect roots
Remove the plant carefully and inspect for damaged, rotten or tightly circling roots.
Aftercare
Avoid unnecessary stress immediately after repotting. Water according to the new media and plant type and monitor light and temperature.
Plant-safety note: Plant toxicity varies by species and may affect pets or children. Verify the exact botanical species before placing a plant where ingestion is possible.
